✗ How Do I Find And Engage Opportunities?
A Structured Approach to Finding, Evaluating, and Engaging Opportunities on the Exchange
Engaging Opportunities on the Exchange is not just a task—it is a strategic process. When approached with clarity and consistency, it becomes a reliable driver of growth for your business.
The platform is designed to be simple and efficient. However, the companies that consistently win are those that approach each Opportunity with focus, preparation, and purpose.
Step 1: Identify the Right Opportunities
Navigate to Opportunities > Search in the left-hand menu and use the interactive map to focus on your service area.
Prioritize Opportunities that align with:
- Your geographic coverage
- Your operational capacity
- Your proven experience (account types / services)
Rather than casting a wide net, be selective. Targeting the right Opportunities positions you for stronger outcomes.
When you find a potential fit, click “View” to review the Opportunity Details and Locations.
Step 2: Evaluate Before You Engage
Before reaching out, take time to fully understand the Opportunity:
- Opportunity Overview: Ensure alignment with your services, experience, and target industries
- Attachments: Review any attached documents, e.g. Scope Of Work, location level details, supporting materials, etc.
- Locations: Identify which sites you can confidently self-perform
- Location Details: Select the specific locations your team is best equipped to service
This step is critical. A thoughtful review demonstrates professionalism and ensures you are engaging with intent—not just activity.
Step 3: Be Selective and Intentional
Focus on the locations where your team can deliver with confidence.
- Location Details: Use the checkbox next to each location to select the Locations your company is best equipped to service (see picture).

This communicates:
- Clarity
- Discipline
- Confidence
Avoid overcommitting. Prioritize high-quality execution over volume.
Step 4: Initiate a High-Quality Conversation
Click “Apply” to begin your engagement.
Your first message is your first impression—and often your most important. Make it count.
A strong message should include:
- A concise company introduction
- Relevant experience, e.g. similar industries, account types, or scope
- Clear reasoning for why you are a strong fit
- Direct contact information and a clear next step,e.g. scheduling a call
Avoid generic responses. Specific, well-prepared outreach consistently sets top-performing contractors apart.
Step 5: Respond with Speed and Consistency
Timely communication matters.
Aim to respond within one (1) business day—or sooner.
Quick responses signal professionalism, reliability, and genuine interest.
Step 6: Stay Organized and Engaged
All conversations are stored under:
Opportunities > Connections > Applied
Use this to:
- Track active discussions
- Follow up efficiently
- Maintain visibility across multiple Opportunities
